Free online concert Sat Oct 9th

Sydney-based record label Bird's Robe have announced plans for a free online concert stream on Saturday October 9th.   Watch the first trailer for the concert here   The 5-hour show will feature a “high quality bootleg” recording of the label’s 5th birthday festival held at Sydney’s Manning Bar in December 2015, headlined by post-rock legends sleepmakeswaves and informally dubbed ‘Mikefest’ by the bands involved.   The event will also feature interviews with Bird’s Robe artists past and present as well as other entertainment interspersed throughout the show, giveaways for fans & a live chat with artists throughout the show.   It will be available for free and streamed at www.twitch.tv/birdsrobe on Saturday October 9th at 6pm Sydney / 8am GMT with a repeat session at 6pm GMT / 1pm NY / 10am LA time.   The full lineup is below:   sleepmakeswaves Troldhaugen Toehider Meniscus Solkyri Dumbsaint Anubis Mish Captain Kickarse and the Awesomes Pirate Dream Cities Mike Mills      Director Mike Solo says:   On Saturday 5 December in 2015, a bunch of bands playing post-rock, prog, metal and alternative rock got together at Manning Bar in Sydney, Australia to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Bird’s Robe Records   It was awesome   Thanks to the work of clipped.tv and Log Cabin Productions, we’re now able to relive that one glorious day of prog, post-rock and popcorn, which has lived so fondly in our memories over all these years   And for all the friends and fans who’ve joined us since then, who never had the opportunity to see some of these wonderful bands play live, or with this era of their lineup, or these particular songs, this is our gift to you as well   It’s 5+ hours of a high quality bootleg of our very own festival, put together in our typical DIY fashion, with plenty of prog, post-rock and popcorn   Enjoy!   Bird's Robe is home to some of Australia's brightest post-rock and prog exports, including sleepmakeswaves, We Lost The Sea, Closure in Moscow, Toehider, Meniscus, The Red Paintings, The Crooked Fiddle Band, Troldhaugen, Solkyri & more.   Earlier this year, the label announced plans for a documentary celebrating its 10th anniversary.   Watch the announcement video & support the fundraising campaign here     Over the past 10 years, Bird's Robe has promoted over 1,000 shows and released over 100 records, including 5 x ARIA-nominated albums, 7 x #1 Independent Chart Albums and racking up combined streams over 10 million across the catalogue.
