HAZARDS OF SWIMMING NAKED
Originating in Tropical North Queensland, now Brisbane based group hazards of swimming naked are a five piece instrumental post-rock group. The humidity and vibrancy of that region permeates their music and culminates in a sound which shares all the cinematic grandeur of artists such as Mogwai, godspeed you! black emperor and Mono.
With songs driven by interlocking melodies and cross rhythms, their diverse instrumental sound shifts between delicate and abrasive moments, often referencing the hallmarks of classic post rock, but moving in unique directions. Going on to build an international following, the group have developed their sound from 2009 debut album ‘Our Lines Are Down’, branching out on 2018 album ‘Take Great Joy’. Creating a catalog of introspective, challenging instrumental music, these albums captured the collective attention of both Australian and international post rock fans. hazards of swimming naked have new music planned for release in early 2023.
